Role and Responsibilities
- Design, develop, execute, and maintain test scenarios and test cases and, for web-based and API applications across different platform offerings.
- Establish testing as an integral part of the development process within cross-functional teams. Develop maintainable automated checks in collaboration with our development teams.
- Showcase proficiency in Java programming with a solid understanding of OOP principles, collections framework, exception handling, and string manipulations.
- Proactively suggest improvements in testing tools for better test coverage for automation. Detect and report defects and follow up closely to ensure issue closure.
- Assess and bring continuous improvements to the overall quality.
- Work closely with the development team to debug any issue.
- Participate in scrum calls with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to POC on the upcoming toolsets.
- Conduct Root cause analysis for production defects and improve test assets.
- Refactor the existing framework as per the requirement.
Skills and Experience
- Expertise in automation testing for Web and API applications.
- Good understanding of SDLC models, test methodologies, requirement comprehension, test planning, test preparation, test bed setup, test execution, test report generation, risk mitigation, effort estimation, schedule tracking, and sign-off accompanying release notes.
- Strong experience in automation testing using Selenium with Java and API automation with REST Assured.
- Experience with CI tools such as Jenkins, Git, and Maven.
- Good hands-on development experiences frameworks like Cucumber.
- Basic knowledge of SQL for querying and managing relational databases.
- Ability to convert JSON data to Java objects and vice versa using libraries like Jackson.
- Thorough understanding of Sprint Planning, Sprint Execution, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retro.
- Must be responsible for driving sprints or releases to closure.
- Should be excellent in writing functional and technical documentation.
- Good to have experience in retail and e-commerce domains.
- Must have strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Good communication, interpersonal, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
